You don't know how to use the avatar on your messageboard or journal
All you need to do is save the avatar to your own computer. (Right-click it and press "Save Picture As") Then, you can upload it on your board. If your messageboard requires that the avatar comes from a specific web address, Stellar Dream doesn't allow you to link to the avatars. What you need to do is upload it to another site, Village Photos or Photobucket are great.
You don't know how to save a .gif (moving avatar)
All you need to do is right click on the avatar and a menu should come that allows you to "Save Picture As". Then just give the avatar file a name (or use the name I gave it), and you're ready to roll.
When you try and save .gif (moving avatar), it will only let you save it as a .bmp (non-moving)
Ah, this has happened to me many times. Your internet cache is too full! :) What do you do about it? Follow these menus: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options. When this comes up, there will be a thing that says "Delete Files" (about 1/2way down the box). Click on this. Your internet cache will be emptied, and then your computer will automatically save moving avatars as .gif. A warning: This takes a really long time, mine has taken up to 10 minutes before. You just need to be patient, it's totally worth it.
The avatar is too large of a file-size for your particular journal or messageboard
If it is a Livejournal avatar, I am sincerely sorry. Please e-mail me about the problem and I will crunch it for you! (I have made them a a little big w/out knowing it before). If the avatar isn't LJ, and you wished it was smaller, you can sometimes make the files smaller using the .gif cruncher at Spinwave
